THE VISION
of
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH is a temple of community. It is built on a shared passion for self-knowledge and a desire for a deeper understanding of the human experience, strengthened and realized by the collaborative energy of practice.
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH welcomes beginner and advanced practitioners alike. Together we explore the deeper terrain of the mind-body-psyche complex, accelerate the process of self-realization, and gain the kind of wisdom that only arrives through direct experience.
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH is no yoga vacation. Each gathering is a carefully curated immersion into powerful practices designed to shift consciousness itself. It acts as a rare access point to self-inquiry and activates the potency alive at the heart of the yoga tradition.
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH is designed to help us see and understand ourselves on every level: physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. It ignites an awareness of the most subtle frequencies of intelligence. When accessed, these frequencies create a metaphysical lattice for our awareness to ascend, spontaneously and without effort, into the realms of spirit and soul.
THE FORMAT
THE EIGHTFOLD PATH is an eight-year journey through the eight limbs of yoga as set down by Patanjali. Each year is devoted to a single limb. Each limb is anchored by an annual week-long retreat and supported by seasonal gatherings, digital and in person, that carry the practice through the year.
One limb. One year. Lived, embodied, and integrated before the next begins.
YEAR ONE | YAMA · Our relationship to the world. The ethics of restraint that clear the ground for practice.
YEAR TWO | NIYAMA · Our relationship to ourselves. The daily observances that build the inner temple.
YEAR THREE | ASANA · The body as instrument. Establishing the steady, easeful seat.
YEAR FOUR | PRANAYAMA · The breath as bridge. Refining the life force that animates all practice.
YEAR FIVE | PRATYAHARA · The senses turned inward. The threshold between outer and inner life.
YEAR SIX | DHARANA · Attention gathered to a single point. The art of concentration.
YEAR SEVEN | DHYANA · Concentration ripened into meditation. Sustained, unbroken awareness.
YEAR EIGHT | SAMADHI · Absorption. The culmination of the path and the recognition of what was always here.
Practitioners may enter the path at any year. The limbs build on one another, and the community deepens with each cycle, yet every year stands whole on its own.
